The Creation Story

or, how we came to be

On one fated night in early August, former roomates Wafflez and Xaz came up with the idea to launch an NFT project. Xaz was familiar with the NFT space, minting early projects such as Solana Souls and Frakt, and Wafflez was an artist, wanting to put his work out into the aether.

Originally sketching some designs for Knights, and being unhappy with the outcome, Wafflez began doodling simply to amuse himself - absurd creations culminating in a Slug with a pair of breasts.

This amused Wafflez so much, that he knew this was it. And thus Solana Slugs were born on October 23rd, 2021.

We were the 3rd OG free mint on Solana, after Sneks and Lunarians.
